One of the most remarkable turnarounds in recent GFL history saw Lara defeat premiership favourites Bell Park by 10 points in Round 14 on Saturday.
Nobody at the Snake Pit could have predicted a Lara victory when the Dragons led by 57 points early in the second quarter. The 2010 Lara side, however, has shown it can win from any position and stayed positive and united in the face of a huge defeat against the ladder leaders. With Ben Harris and Mark Andjelkovic on the sidelines and Jack Hollmer on VFL duties, the load was spread amongst a large group of players who made significant contributions to the comeback. Kane Smith, Lewis Hollmer, Mitchell Day, David Isbister, Jack Shannahan and Daniel Donati were named in the best and combined for 16 of theĀ 18 Lara goals, with Mitch bagging six majors. Kane, David and Jack also combined for more than 90 disposals and 30 tackles but the win would not have been possible without contributions from other players, including Sam Clark, Lee Hollmer, Daniel Walve and Daniel Ladgrove.
